2012: I mined five shiny Bitcoins on a dusty desktop and felt like Tony Stark discovering a new element. Then on a random e-commerce website which was accepting Bitcoin flashed a “Deal of the Day”. 512 MB pen drives, barely bigger than my thumbnail. ₹300 each. Click, Click, Click my “digital gold” turned into plastic sticks before my Maggi finished boiling. Fast-forward to today. Those same pen drives lie in a rusted tin box, capacity smaller than a single Instagram Reel. Those five coins? Worth a decent 2-BHK in Mumbai, yaar. Truth bomb: It wasn’t the tech that failed me, it was my impulse. No long-term thinking, zero patience, pura FOMO. I traded a lottery ticket for gadgets that now fail to impress even my seven-year-old nephew. Lesson? Next time a shiny new coin, stock, or side-hustle pops up, ask, “Will this still matter when my hair turns grey?” If the answer is “maybe”, sit tight. If it’s “no idea”, still sit tight. Patience beats panic. Regret is a loud teacher but a great one. Kyun repeat the same class?
