India’s next Bangalore! Most nations scaled innovation by building around cities. But India’s context demands something different, a distributed ecosystem that reflects its geography, diversity, and demographic scale. When innovation infrastructure is limited to metro cities, we miss out on what local colleges, schools, and rural enterprises can contribute. What if each state became a self-sufficient node in a national innovation network? Instead of asking “Where is the next Bangalore?”, maybe the better question is: Can India decentralise innovation without diluting quality? What would it take to build 28+ strong, state-wise ecosystems, and should that be our next national priority?
