🇮🇳 Make in India: Progress or Just Assembly? The Truth No One Talks About. Look, India is definitely doing better in manufacturing than it was 10–15 years ago. We're not just screwing parts together anymore — there is actual production happening, especially in stuff like smartphones, cars, and medicines. You’ll see “Made in India” tags more often now. But let’s not kid ourselves — we still import a ton of the important parts. Like, we may assemble a phone here, but many of the chips and core components still come from outside. Same with things like EV batteries, advanced electronics, and solar tech — we’re far from making those from scratch. And yeah, we’ve got some deep-rooted issues holding us back — roads, power supply, red tape, and even a lack of skilled people in some fields. Countries like China and even Vietnam are way ahead in how quickly and efficiently they can make stuff. So yeah, India's on the right path, but we shouldn't call it fully self-reliant yet.
