Story time 📖😂 So this goes back to when I was in 8th grade and a Byju’s counsellor had come to my house to pitch their course. You know the typical scene — parents sitting seriously on the sofa, the counsellor trying to sell dreams, and me, the confused kid sitting in the middle like it’s a job interview. At one point, he looked at me with a big smile and asked, “So, what are your interests?” I confidently replied, “Marketing.” He lit up — probably thinking, “Wow, prodigy spotted.” Then came the follow-up: “Nice! And what do you understand by marketing?” I didn’t flinch. I proudly said, “Like... going out in the market and doing shopping.” The silence lasted a second. And then — absolute chaos. The counsellor BURST out laughing, my parents looked like they wanted to return me to the manufacturer, and I sat there wondering what just happened 💀💀💀 At the time, I was mortified. But now? I laugh about it all the time. That moment actually opened my eyes to what marketing really is — not just buying stuff, but making people want to buy. It was the day my definition evolved from mall trips to market strategies 😎 Who knew a shopping enthusiast would one day dive into the world of branding, psychology, and consumer behavior? 😂
