While the sentiment for nation-building is commendable, equating MBBS bonds directly to IIT is flawed logic given the vastly different professions. Mandatory service for engineers could paradoxically accelerate brain drain, pushing top talent away to avoid restrictions, rather than inspiring contribution. It should essentially come from witihin and must not be forced also, forcing engineers into specific public roles might lead to demotivated work and lessser innovation, unlike the direct and critical need medical bonds address. Their diverse skills might be better utilized through market-driven innovation, which indirectly benefits the nation through job creation and economic growth.
