India Rolls Out New EV Policy, Slashes Import Duties to 15% In a major policy shift, the Indian government has reduced import duties on electric vehicles from 110% to 15% for automakers that commit at least ₹4,150 crore and set up local manufacturing within 3 years. The policy allows for the import of up to 8,000 EVs per year per company, provided they meet the investment and localization criteria.
