I kind of feel like it is harder to convince people close to you with the mindset of parents than to customers, think about it, one can't convince somebody if they are stuck in their mindset or don't want to, now some like ritesh agarwal do believe in the parent sales thing but I don't, customers are different from parents, parents don't care about your product or business they are only focused on well being and stuff which holds them back, a random stranger has no perception of you, but you build it the moment you talk or they see you. so they can be convinced and this is sales and stuff, and nowadays apart from investing deals and business deals eyc, face to face marketing is pretty out to date, even in things like events or stage reveals of products they market the product and stuff in clever ways and not just convincing em with words. now parents would be convinced with time and stuff as they are not ready to listen to your point of view subconsciously, but the rest are
