apply for provisional patent right a way, you will get 1 year to finalize it. until then your MVP will be in final stage. if you can run MVP without external funding, run it. a rolling model with numbers has high probability of getting investors. Do not expand until you get investments, this will put unnecessary pressure on you. for a working model you will be in better position to negotiate and will actually know the real value of you product, if scaled.
