The key is to make datadriven decisions, not emotional ones. Ultimately, it requires courage to admit a misstep and pivot, but also conviction not to give up too easily.

Depends on the scenario, for example 1. Are you unhappy with the outcome of your current positioning? 2. Are you testing a better solution 3. Do you have a better offer that is conditional on a pivot? example an offer for a project or investment conditional on the need to pivot your strategy. 4. What aspect of your startup are you pivoting? Brand positioning, business strategy, product or service ? etc etc..
