Cyber Scam Alert: Stay Safe! Today I received a suspicious message claiming to be from State Bank of India (SBI). It read: Refer to the picture attached. Let me be clear: This is a phishing attempt. Do not download or install the APK file. SBI or any legitimate bank will never send you apps via SMS or WhatsApp, or ask you to redeem points via unknown APKs. Scam red flags to look out for: Generic greetings like “Dear Value Customer” Unsolicited reward claims with urgency Suspicious file formats (.apk) Unknown senders and unofficial links What you should do: 1. Do NOT install or click on such links or files 2. Report it to SBI at: phishing@sbi.co.in 3. Forward the message to 1909 (TRAI’s spam report line) 4. Spread awareness to friends, family, and colleagues Let’s all stay alert and help each other stay safe online.
