I think the actual problem isn't that people are physically in a line, but that people act in a certain way while waiting, etc. For instance, if I reserve a time slot and the guy in front of me doesn't come, who will lose out? The entire system loses.". Particularly in India, if a person is standing in queue for some other person and that individual arrives later and takes the place, others generally do not accept itโit is creating unwanted friction. I believe the real need is not queue management but how to deliver services quicker and more efficiently. With the rate at which technology is growing, we need to focus on express queueing and fluid online procedures for booking or buying. Perhaps even consider partnering with communities that really require these facilities, because ultimately the true issue isn't waiting in lineโit's waiting so long for the service.
