Hello everyone, I am planning to start engineering degree but I am unable to decide between computer science and other branches.With the rapid rise of AI, I wonder if CS jobs will soon be automated or saturated. Do you think pursuing CS is still worth it for a solid, future-proof career? Or should I explore other engineering disciplines that might be less impacted by AI? I’d love to hear your experiences and advice!

Don't get carried away brother, first of all it's hard getting CS. It's about upskilling yourself, only future proof career in India is government jobs.

From someone in core engineering (mechanical): I wish I’d taken CS. We struggle to find relevant jobs and pay is abysmal unless you go to PSU or core R&D. CS grads get options in literally every industry..from finance to health to games. AI might change things, but CS will adapt faster than we will.

If you're thinking of future-proofing your career, ironically, CS might be the only safe bet. Mechanical, civil, even electronics, all of them will get impacted by automation too. At least in CS, you’ll have the skills to build the tech that replaces others.
