Marketing strategy, period. It's all about making the potential clients aware of the product/the restaurant. That's a loss they are willing to bear, since it's one of the most effective strategies that many people tried and succeeded. (It happens a lot. A couple of weeks ago, in kerala, This local food delivery app company named "FEZZO" gave out Biriyaani for free, as a limited period offer. I am pretty sure they have made quite an entrance to the local market with this strategy)
