You need to build that trust that you are serious. Try to earn money and show your family that you are independent and can earn. After 3 months, ask for funding from your father.

been there, and I can feel you, so here is the thing, you start by an idea, something that solves real problems, Start up is made by 4 things, Great Idea, Great Product, Great Team and Great Execution. As you dont have any family support, start with a clear vision and find a co-founder (if you are not from a technical background, make sure you have a technical co-founder). The funding part is tricky. If you are a 1st time founder and not from high esteemed universities like IIT or IIM, then it could be a problem to raise money, because in pre seed round, investors bet on the team and their capabilities to execute. At last, be user obsessive by securing a few funds, launching mvp, taking feedbacks and iterate. (PS: If you are a student and bellow the age of 22, you can also apply for Theil Fellowship)

don't say that it's a tech startup and you can't afford. every thing is available for free. don't go for custom domain initially. you can get free domains and host your site using supabase or vercel or any other free provider. and for database you can opt for mongo or postgresql. prove your mvp and then reach investors. you'll get funding easily if you can prove your product.

If you truly believe in your startup idea, you need to make sacrifices. Skip going out with friends. Sell an old phone. Offer freelance tech work for ₹500 on Instagram. No one’s going to “fund” a student with no product, no traction, and no plan to generate revenue.

Not trying to be harsh, but if you can’t earn even a few thousand on your own, how will you convince others to trust you with their money? Entrepreneurship isn’t about funding, it’s about hustle. That might mean coding at 2 AM or learning to convince your parents. But no shortcuts.

first ask yourself Do you really need funding? Any free alternative to things you require? see funding is just illusion if idea isn't good 1st validate then people will believe you to trust whether it's family or any investor.
