Today I tried using Firebase Studio to spin up a prototype of an App I'm planning to build. I specifically mentioned to use Nuxt and Nuxt Ui components where possible. Guess what it did listen. It said it's gonna use Nuxt Ui components in text but when it comes to code, it wrote everything in Next and React. Everyone is saying AI is enabling but I believe we're in for an even more deceptive world than we live in.

These AI-powered tools aren’t ready to handle nuanced dev instructions. Especially when it comes to ecosystem-specific tooling like Nuxt UI. It’s like asking a vending machine for sushi. You’re gonna get snacks at best.

Every tool defaults to React or Next.js like it’s the only framework that exists. Vue/Nuxt support in AI tools is an afterthought, if that. Until it gets real representation in training data, this will keep happening.

I use AI daily for speed, but I never take the output at face value. It’s like that overconfident teammate who says “done!” and then you realize nothing works on prod. Helpful tool, not reliable engineer.
