You do have a point, but think about this, it takes more effort to convince a complete stranger, while convincing your friends or people you closely is much more easier. And this friend will help you get further warm intros to people on the path. In first glance, it seems like the effort is increasing where you have to convince 3-4 people instead of just one, but now the process will have less friction and resistance as you reach the final person through someone who is close to them, effectively turning your cold approach intor a warm intro. If you apply higher order thinking, then this idea shows potential.

Y Combinator doesn’t invest in “ideas.” They invest in momentum. If your startup grows 10% weekly, you don’t need a warm intro. You need to keep growing.

If you have to convince people your product is useful, it’s probably not. Real value doesn’t need a sales pitch—it speaks for itself. If people aren’t getting it, the problem isn’t their understanding, it’s your product. Fix that first.

Social Skills Tip: Make it a habit to talk to one stranger every day. The more people you interact with, the more socially fluent you get. And social fluency is learned. Nobody is born with social skills. You can fix that. ....
