poetic tribute to Pyotr Kropotkin, a 19th-century Russian philosopher who went from being a prince to a passionate anarchist — meaning, he believed that government and capitalism should be replaced by voluntary cooperation and community-based living. The haiku at the top captures his life's core idea: State of corruption The offence of capital. Harmony evolved. It’s like a tiny philosophy capsule. Here’s how we might explain each line: "State of corruption" – Kropotkin believed that the modern state (governments, laws, police) was not a neutral force, but one deeply corrupt, serving the powerful, not the people. "The offence of capital." – He saw capitalism — especially the way it exploited workers and hoarded wealth — as a moral offense. It created inequality, suffering, and competition when cooperation could be better. "Harmony evolved." – This is his twist on Darwin. While most people thought evolution meant “survival of the fittest”, Kropotkin said, “No, wait — in nature, species survive because they cooperate.” So mutual aid, not domination, is how both nature and society evolve best.
