𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗘𝗢 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁/𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘁 Most founders chase product/market fit with dashboards, growth hacks, and fancy reports. Stripe did the opposite. Patrick Collison (CEO of Stripe) had one simple rule: → 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐤. 𝐅𝐢𝐱 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀: → Every time a user made an API request → Email to founders → Every error in the product → High-priority alert → Public chat room → Instant help for users → Feedback box on every page → “The worst thing about Stripe is…” Patrick wanted users to complain. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 = 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩. His mindset was clear: "𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧.” Most startups wait for 1000 users. Stripe focused on first 10 users. → Watch them. → Help them. → Learn from them. → Fix things fast. That’s how product/market fit happens. 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: → Forget fancy dashboards. → Sit with your users. → Watch them struggle. → Turn their pain into your to-do list. That’s the real game. I hope you've found this helpful.
