The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has given the green light to a major industrial project — the establishment of a steel plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), with a total investment of Rs 1.35 lakh crore. This ambitious project will be developed in two phases and is set to significantly boost the state's industrial landscape. The first phase, involving an investment of Rs 55,964 crore, will lay the foundation for the plant's operations. The second phase will further expand the facility with an additional investment of Rs 80,000 crore. Once completed, the plant will have a total production capacity of 17.8 million tonnes, making it one of the largest steel manufacturing units in the country. This move is expected to generate substantial employment, attract allied industries, and strengthen the steel sector both regionally and nationally.
