My end goal is probably going to sound strange on a site full of ambitious professionals, but here goes: I want a simple life with time for observation and reflection. I've deliberately chosen a career path (teaching) that allows me summers off and reasonable hours. I've turned down administrative promotions because they would take me away from what matters to me - reading widely, writing, spending time in nature, and having deep conversations. I want to be the old person who actually knows their neighbors, who has wisdom worth sharing, who's really been present for their life. Success for me isn't measured in wealth or status but in attention and presence.

Now that's what you call life. Everyone else is chasing big and luxurious goals , I would not say they are wrong but having time to enjoy everything else is also important. I myself am ambitious about my goals but I also want a life that I would be satisfied with at the end. I do want to work hard to achieve my goals but I don't want to be too entangled in it that I lose sight of what I actually wanted

That is actually strange my friend. Not because you commented on a site with ambitious individuals, but because you chose a happy life instead of a luxurious one. Atleast you know what to do with your life. Most of us here know what we WANT to do but we too don't have much clarity.
