A few months ago, I went full LinkedIn warrior mode, applying to every job I saw. Finally, two companies called me. First was a crypto trading firm—aced the interview, got the offer, but I didn’t accept it. Why? Because the second was my dream company, and I was overconfident I’d crack it effortlessly. Walk-in interview. First round? Smooth as butter. Confidence? Through the roof. Manager’s round? Walked in like a hero. First question: Introduce yourself. Easy. Nailed it. Second question: What are your roles and responsibilities? Now, I’d been doing this job for two years. Could answer it in my sleep. But my brain? Logged out. Vocabulary? Vanished. I panicked, said two lines, then—silence. Interviewer: “What happened?” Me: “That’s it.” Him: smiles “Okay, we’ll let you know.” Spoiler: They did not let me know.
