To be honest, none of the companies founded by those with IIT or IIM backgrounds, including well-known names like Lenskart or 1mg, are truly profitable. Most VCs seem overly fixated on the IIT-IIM tag, often overlooking entrepreneurs who are genuinely creating value. Iโve seen my friendsโ startups get rejected by VCs simply because their projects required substantial investment in R&D. Meanwhile, the same VCs are quick to fund some mediocre startups just because the founders have prestigious IIT or IIM credentials. I genuinely hope this approach changes in the future and real innovation gets the support it deserves ๐
