I have been noticing it for months now that alot of people who could have been potential customers for spotify don't buy its premium even though its just 60 INR for 3 months*. A small street food in India is now not less than 100 INR. I thought to myself that what could be the reason behind this ? And came with the following ones : 1️⃣ - Lack of Proper Advertisement (I convinced a big time listener friend of mine to buy spotify's premium but he had some questions like Will I be able to keep my downloaded songs even after my subscription is over ? Is it just the ads being removed in this subscription or there's something else too ? This is the mindset of a typical Indian customer online. Unless they get alot of things for a small sum of money ,they don't buy it. Adding 2-3 additional basic features for the premium users and advertising it along with other things to give a sense of giving a lot for less price is not a bad idea, right?) 2️⃣ - Missed Marketing Opportunities ( I get it that you can't force someone to buy a subscription and if you do, they will just go to another platform instead of buying the subscription. As far as I have noticed, I have never felt the need of buying one because to me its just a 30 second change of music that too a calm one most of the times. Had the advertisement music been completely different from what I was currently listening, I would feel disturbed by the AD and this is when it becomes noticeable. The goal is not to increase the frequency of ADs but to make people aware of it. For example Rock music being promoted in the AD when I would be listening to calm, romantic songs. Imagine No More disturbance like this between your music . This is when I would buy the premium ) What do you think? Would these changes make you consider buying Spotify Premium? Let me know! 😉 PS:Spotify charges Rs59 for 3 months and then Rs119/month after it . Also I wrote this post 2 months ago for my linkedin (given in bio)
