I’ve always believed in following my inner guide rather than conforming to others’ expectations. It’s what I prioritize, and it’s helped me grow into a better version of myself. Recently, a friend asked if I’d like to join his start-up. I agreed, excited about the opportunity. He mentioned that if I impressed the co-founders, I could become the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). I took this seriously, dove into learning marketing strategies, and even studied how influencers sell their products. I was genuinely interested and motivated. However, things took a turn when my friend met an investor. The investor essentially took over the company, changed its strategies, and brought in their own marketing team—effectively sidelining me. I saw this coming when my friend shared the investor’s plans, but what bothered me most was how easily my friend and his team fell into what felt like a "money trap." I believed there were better ways to grow the company without giving up control or making drastic changes. Later, my friend mentioned he was working on a new project involving machine learning (ML) and AI. Since I’m not interested in highly technical fields, I expressed my disinterest. He then used this as a reason to remove me from the company, claiming I wouldn’t fit into the new direction. It felt like an excuse to push me out for the sake of investment priorities. Honestly, I’m furious. I put time and effort into helping them, only to be dismissed so casually. It’s frustrating, and right now, I’m struggling to process the anger and betrayal I feel. PS: I like AI it's just that I'm not much interested in the technical aspects of it.
