German semiconductor giant Infineon and US-based onsemi are exploring partnerships to set up Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing (OSAT) facilities in India. This move aligns with India's growing push to strengthen its semiconductor ecosystem and reduce dependence on imports. In a significant development, Infineon has also recently signed an agreement with Continental Device India Ltd (CDIL), a key Indian semiconductor manufacturer. This collaboration is expected to boost local semiconductor packaging and testing capabilities, supporting India's ambition to become a global semiconductor hub.
