Hello medial, in showcase section ,the top three ideas are selected based on upvotes or good idea?

Medial could explore introducing a feature of allowing users to accept follow requests. It will allow for better control to users.

Can somebody please explain how the startup showcase contest on medial works? How do they rank the startup ideas (Upvotes, etc?)? And do we need a minimum viable product (MVP) to improve our chances of winning?
