Schools should teach students how to think, not just memorize. Imagine learning by building apps, starting businesses, or solving real problems instead of just preparing for exams.

A student upto 9th standard must definitely aquire the knowledge about... 1. How economy works in India. 2. How India is administrated through constitution and politics. 3. Computer and technology(AI). 4. Language, communication and morality. 5. Maths and science based on sustainable development, conservative energy and modern technologies. 6. Learnings and outcomes of HumanHistory. The education must be real life problem solving and practicality focused. Apart from these, students must engage in some extra subjects like music, art, sports etc to enhance their creative and critical thinking. We can also include a subject that would deal with the major problem that humanity is suffering from... like global warming, unfair distribution of resources, plastic and harmful waste, shortage of fuel-water-energy, overpopulation and many more.

If we're truly redesigning from scratch, we need to abandon the factory model of education completely. Our current system was designed to create compliant factory workers in the industrial era - sitting in rows, following instructions, working to bells. In a redesigned system, I'd eliminate age-based grouping and move to competency-based progression. Let kids move at their own pace through material, advancing when they've mastered concepts rather than when a calendar says they should. The most damaging aspect of our current system is forcing advanced students to wait while struggling students get left behind. Everyone loses. Each student should have a personalized learning path guided by mentor teachers who work with them over multiple years to ensure continuity.

The teachers

As a teacher with 15 years experience, the single most impactful change would be dramatically reducing class sizes. All these fancy pedagogical theories and technology solutions mean nothing when I have 32 students with wildly different needs in one classroom. Give me 12-15 students maximum, and I could transform education without changing anything else. The fact that we keep looking for miracle curriculum changes or technology fixes while ignoring the obvious issue of class size shows we're not serious about reform. The countries with the best education systems (Finland, Singapore) all prioritize small class sizes and teacher autonomy. Everything else is a distraction.
