Hey, I've faced a similar issue. Just cut him off if possible or If you want to do it in a way that won't hurt, then set up a mentor and meeting which will contain you 3 ppl. Explain the situation to the mentor who will bring the topic of how much work you have done individually. (It is necessary that you have worked way more than him). Then the mentor will advise an equity split like 5% : 95% or whatever contribution is. Then either he will be motivated to work or leave it.

keep ur relation out of business this should be very clear in every business holders head coz in business u need to be very practical rather than being emotional

I think he is not interested in your startup. if you are serious for your startup then you can change the co founder. otherwise it would be dangerous for your business.

Aah my friend a close one also interested in my business ideas and wants to do it combine but he never seen keen to me about my ideas he liked them infact everyone likes them but he just don't do anything or work upon that he isn't even funding so I am also facing same thing I want to initiate without him but I don't want him to be hurt!! If the co-founder or partner is not willing to work on his own, Better work on your own, If required find another partner who aligns with your concept and works along with you

if they don't do their task .. then what's the purpose of them being co-founders??.. remove the unnecessary people and find a worthy co-founder... btw What's your business about?
