Hello Pranita. Congrats for planning to start a candle making company. My 2 cents on this idea would slightly critical. Making a brand for candles is very difficult in my opinion. Until and unless the designing part is top notch, it's very tough to make people choose a particular brand for scented candles. Scented candles are there probably from last decade but the real traction in this segment started after the corporate gifting. Yes, there are individuals who buy it as a novelty once or twice or probably gift a set to their friends and relatives. But both corporate gifting and gifting to friends are price sensitive. So, there would always be an issue when it comes to scaling and probably a cap to pricing the product too. Can it be a good business, probably Yes. can it become a unique brand, very tough. There should be a unique differentiating factor in the product to stand apart from the other competitors. At this point, I can't think of such an impactful differentiating factor. All this info is my personal opinion and my attempt is not to discourage you. I'm trying to put the things that came into my head after looking at your post. Here’s what I’m planning at the moment - The containers will be ceramic cups, which can be used as normal cups afterwards because how many pencil holders can you even make out of candle holders I’m tired of using candles that smell great when you buy them but unless you enter the room suddenly, you don’t feel like a candle is burning. The fragrances are too low in intensity.
