I also completely disagree with the Sharks when they suggested focusing solely on the Showcase section. In my opinion, having more features in the app will naturally attract more users and drive higher engagement. For instance, if the app only had a startup showcase feature where people could comment and upvote ideas, interactions would be limited. However, with additional features....such as the ability to message founders directly or follow them for updates...the platform becomes far more dynamic and useful. The Sharks also mentioned that the app resembles a mix of Twitter, LinkedIn, and GitHub. But I don’t see anything wrong with that...on the contrary, it makes the platform more valuable. Platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter are increasingly cluttered with irrelevant content, so providing a space focused purely on startups and business-related discussions fills an important gap. I don’t think the Sharks were entirely wrong; they simply didn’t get a full understanding of how the app actually works and the kind of content it offers. They might have assumed it to be similar to the Hood app, but the focus here is completely different. Hood is centered around anonymous discussions about personal and work-related problems, whereas this app is designed specifically for startup and business-focused interactions. That’s just my perspective, of course, and I understand that others may have different views.
