Why am I atheist? I am an atheist and don’t believe in anything—not just God. It is not a question of God; I don’t believe in believing in itself. My approach is to know, and knowing is a completely different dimension. It starts with doubt; it doesn’t start with belief. The moment you believe in something, you stop inquiring. Belief is one of the most poisonous things that can destroy human intelligence. All religions are based on belief, whereas only science is based on doubt. I seek religious inquiry, which is why all truly spiritual people are scientific—because they know that all conclusions are illusions.
