He is .... ๐๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐พ๐๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น, an Indian entrepreneur, co-founded Inshorts, a platform delivering concise news summaries, in 2013. He began his academic journey at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2009, pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. However, he chose to leave the program to focus on his entrepreneurial ambitions. The inception of Inshorts was driven by Azhar and his IIT classmates, Deepit Purkayastha and Anunay Pandey. They noticed that many young individuals were disengaged from traditional news formats due to lengthy articles and time constraints. To address this, they launched a Facebook page called "News in Shorts," providing quick 60-words summaries of news stories. The positive reception of this initiative encouraged them to develop a dedicated mobile application, officially launching the Inshort app in 2013. Under Azhar's leadership as CEO, Inshorts experienced significant growth, becoming India's highest-rated English news app with over 10 million active users. The platform attracted substantial investments, including a $35 million funding round in 2020 from Addition, SIG Global, and Tanglin Venture Partners. In 2019, Azhar expanded his entrepreneurial ventures by launching the "Public" app, a location-based social network aimed at connecting local communities in India. The app quickly gained traction, amassing over 50 million active users and becoming India's largest location-based social network. In October 2023, Azhar transitioned from his role as CEO to Chairman of Inshorts, with co-founder Deepit Purkayastha stepping in as the new CEO. This move allowed Azhar to focus on broader strategic initiatives while remaining committed to the company's vision of building a large and profitable internet enterprise in India. Azhar's entrepreneurial journey reflects his ability to identify and address gaps in the market, particularly in the digital content and social networking sectors. His ventures have significantly influenced how news is consumed and how local communities connect in India. Follow me vishakha Jangir for more such insights
