How did Wingify survive with no funding for 15 years and get acquired for 1660 CR? 1. In 2009, Paras Chopra, a biotechnology graduate passionate about coding, set out to build a successful software company. His research led him to A/B testing, a technique optimized for website performance. Seeing the complexity of existing tools, he set out to create a simpler, no-code solution—which became Visual Website Optimizer (VWO). Wingify was born. 🚀 2. VWO's free trial attracted global businesses, and within a month, it generated $4,000 in revenue. With a competitive $199/month pricing, it appealed to startups and enterprises, securing clients like Microsoft, eBay, and GE, drawn by its AI-driven insights and user-friendly interface. ✅ 3. Wingify's content marketing fueled growth, with blogs and case studies positioning it as an industry leader with no marketing spend. Demand surged, and within 18 months, Wingify reached $1 million in revenue, proving the viability of a bootstrapped SaaS model. 📉 4. Unlike many startups that sought venture capital from 2012 to 2015, Wingify chose to remain bootstrapped, prioritizing profitability over rapid scaling. By keeping costs low, reinvesting earnings, and focusing on product excellence, its revenue reached $8 million, serving 2,500+ businesses across 80 countries by 2014. 🌎 5. From 2015 to 2018, Wingify continued publishing high-quality articles and case studies. By 2017, revenue had crossed $15 million, and Wingify had become a key player in the conversion rate optimization (CRO) market. 💪 6. Wingify expanded VWO's capabilities as competition increased, integrating AI-powered insights and advanced optimization features. By 2022, Wingify's revenue surpassed 209.2 CR($ 22 million) at a profit of 58 CR, with a strong presence in 90+ countries and 4,000+ customers. 💰 7. After over a decade of independent growth, Wingify's revenue reached 302 CR ($36.4 million) at a profit of 61 CR. Then the big news came. On 24 January 2025, Everstone Capital acquired a majority stake for 1660 CR ($200 million). 💪 ➡️ Wingify scaled profitably without external funding by prioritizing profitability, economic content marketing, a lean team, and reinvesting profits into product development and support. 🙌 If you are a founder who cannot raise funding or don't even need one, go on and become the next Wingify. 🙏
