A few years ago, a Bangalore-based techie NILADRI DAS ROY found himself in a recurring dilemma. Early-morning flights to his hometown often meant expensive cab fares, which were out of reach for someone just starting their career. Inspired by the need for a practical solution to high travel costs, the techie and his friend pooled their resources and expertise to build CoRider. Drawing on their background in technology and product development, they invested seed capital into building the app and assembling a remote team to bring their vision to life. WHAT IS CORIDER? CoRider goes beyond conventional carpooling by connecting travellers heading to the same destination - such as an airport - via its app. Riders can coordinate rides, split fares, and reduce travel costs. Unlike traditional carpool options, CoRider doesn’t require users to own a car; they simply arrange shared cabs online or offline through the platform. In addition, riders have the option to choose who they want to travel with, unlike aggregator ride-sharing, where the driver makes these decisions.
