Punjab's Agricultural Infrastructure Achievements In January 2025, the Punjab government announced the sanctioning of over 20,000 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme, highlighting the Department of Horticulture's successful promotion efforts. The AIF, launched by the Government of India in July 2020 with a corpus of ₹1,00,000 crore, aims to provide financial support to agri-entrepreneurs, start-ups, agri-tech players, and farmer groups for infrastructure and logistics facilities. Punjab has been allotted ₹4,713 crore under this fund and has been recognized as the top-performing state in terms of the number of applications sanctioned. In September 2024, Punjab received the "Best Performing State" award at the AIF Excellence Awards in New Delhi.
