I want to clarify this - talking to customers in person is the only way there is at the beginning ( if you can't do that it means you are lazy and dreaming).For b2b have atleast 6 people who like like your idea and are willing to give feedback at each iteration and for b2c 50 people. these people should belong to the target market only otherwise it is a waste. Getting random people who are not target audience to like validate the idea is the stupidest thing you can do. it will boost your confidence but will not get you success.
