Caste is one of India’s biggest problems, yet many refuse to acknowledge it. It continues to divide people and deny equal opportunities, especially to marginalized communities. From education and jobs to basic dignity, caste dictates so much of life here. Students from Lower castes backgrounds face discrimination, sometimes with tragic consequences, while policies like reservation—meant to level the playing field—are criticized by those who’ve always enjoyed privilege. Even elections and politics thrive on caste divisions. For the privileged, caste feels invisible because it works in their favor, but for others, it’s a daily fight. If we want true progress, we have to confront and dismantle caste discrimination instead of pretending it doesn’t exist.
