The reason India struggles to grow in AI isn’t just about infrastructure or investment — it’s also about our mindset. We’re the first to hype up anything built abroad, even if it’s just a copy of something else. But when someone from India tries to create something innovative, we’re quick to tear them down. Take Bhavish Aggarwal’s announcement of Krutrim AI as an example. The project wasn’t even launched yet, and we mocked him relentlessly without even knowing what it was. This needs to change. If we truly want India to thrive in cutting-edge tech like AI, we must support homegrown efforts, not ridicule them. Constructive criticism is great, but blind trolling only discourages innovation. It’s time we start believing in and uplifting Indian creators and entrepreneurs. The world doesn’t owe us recognition — we need to build that for ourselves.
