From a YouTube Channel to an EdTech Startup In 2020, I started a YouTube channel called alamaaraa to help distance education 📒 students. I had no big plans back then. Just a simple goal, to support students who need guidance in distance education. Today, that small step has turned into something bigger than I ever imagined. 🎉 We just crossed 65,000 subscribers on Youtube🎉! But the story doesn’t stop there. 👉Seed of building a startup came from here 👉 Middle-class Kerala boy who was building something in the AI space back in 2020 & explaining it to my parents was like 🤯 👉 When my friends were flying abroad for studies & settling there, I stayed back here 👉 Took my idea to incorporate a startup alamaaraa.(with the money I borrowed) 👉 Got Idea grant from Kerala Startup Mission 👉 As a first gen entrepreneur things were like climbing a mountain every day 👉 I listened to my customers & did not run behind building apps ( networking helped me learn from other founders) 👉 Now we impacted 1.25 lakh students across 25+ countries—without even having a product ready. 👉 Over 4,200 students trusted us enough to become paying customers, all through bootstrapping(zero marketing, completely organic). 👉 Now, we got the real picture of what should be done, (not a spray & pray technique) The process 🚴 hasn’t been easy 🤕 There were days I doubted myself, and nights 🌉when the challenges felt overwhelming. 📉 But every morning 🌅 , I’d wake up to 100+ messages from students asking for help. 💡 Those messages became my fuel ⛽ Today, our mission is crystal clear: To make quality, affordable education 📖 accessible to every student 👨🎓 , everywhere 🌎 . We’ve just started, the journey ahead is even longer 🛣️ . I’m not emotional about the dream anymore. Instead, I listen to my customers & my team who believe me Just like our vision, one person always stood with me Harisankar M (from college days till now, now he is the Chief People Officer 😬) Thanks to each & every one who criticized me when I started my Youtube, to all who teased me while I was editing videos on my phone. No rest until this mission is accomplished, enjoy every step in this journey. 🚀
