A Funnel is the exact process you follow to guide potential customers through your company's value offering, eventually encouraging them to become paying customers (or at least help establish a form of revenue). An example I found both interesting and was too common to go un-noticable - TikTok I noticed how TikTok’s watermark on every video (especially the ones downloaded and shared on other platforms) establishes a clear sense of ownership: "This video was created for TikTok’s platform." The intense and addictive nature of these videos subtly plants an idea in people’s minds: "I need to visit this platform for more content." Here's how this Basic FUNNEL was set in place: More videos are circulated = More watermarks are seen More watermarks are seen = More traction for the platform More traction = More DAUs More DAUs = More advert money This was how the money came flowing through!!!
