I have a concern regarding the Buy Today Sell Tomorrow (BTST) process. When I engage in BTST, my broker provides the funds the next day. There may be instances where I require immediate access to these funds for other purchases. I believe this process should be revised to provide immediate fund availability. While I understand there are limitations on withdrawals, the delay in fund availability with BTST appears to be a drawback. Ensuring immediate access to funds would be greatly beneficial.

You don't understand the complexity.. BTST is already a privilege (selling without having shares). Settlement needs time for risk checks. Instant settlement needs MASSIVE infrastructure change. Look what happened with Yes Bank's AT1 bonds - settlement delays saved many traders.

Yes, waiting sucks but: Pros of current system: Prevents overtrading Reduces systemic risk Lower broker overhead Cons: Capital blocked Missed opportunities Solution: Get margin trading enabled if you need instant access.

As someone working in risk management - instant settlement is DANGEROUS. What if stock tanks next day? Current T+1 system protects both traders and brokers. Remember Archegos Capital collapse? That's what happens with excessive leverage.

Using Zerodha - this isn't a broker issue, it's a T+1 settlement cycle requirement. Even if you sell T1 securities in BTST, funds only available T+1. That's why I maintain extra capital buffer. No broker can bypass SEBI rules, stop blaming them.
