The biggest barrier for this is quality manpower in factories, it is also the reason most "Made in India" products have the lowest quality.

No one can beat China, even the US. Here's why:
1. Production Cost: iPhone assembly in China costs ~$6/unit vs. $30+ in the US. Tesla builds EVs in Shanghai 30% cheaper than in the US.
2. Labor & Scale: Average manufacturing wage in China is ~$3.5

I saw one job post,
Experience required : 3 years
Education required : Graduation + MBA
and salary : ₹30,000/month.
Even after 2-3 years salary would be just ₹30-40,000.

I don't know why, but it feels like even after imposing tariffs, the actions China is taking might give India a manufacturing push. Our private manufacturers will need to take advantage of this; this is not something the government can do.
