New users are nice, but if your existing customers stick around and actively use your product, you’ve cracked the code. Look for metrics like a 30%+ retention rate for consumer apps or steady repeat usage for B2B.

Simple, when people start recommending your product unprompted, leaving glowing reviews, and coming back for more, it’s a sign you’ve hit PMF. If you’re pushing hard to convince them, you’re not there yet.

Imo, you’ve achieved PMF when customers start pulling the product from you instead of you pushing it onto them. If your sales are inbound-heavy, you’re there.
