In India, around 90% of the population earns less than ₹30,000 per month, highlighting deep economic disparity (PLFS data). Despite this, societal focus often shifts to religious conflicts, pseudoscience, and extravagant rituals. Billions of rupees are spent annually on pseudoscientific practices, diverting resources from critical areas like education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. Political exploitation of religious sentiments further fuels conflicts, while limited access to quality education fosters blind faith and unscientific beliefs. Many remain unaware of socio-economic realities, living in illusions perpetuated by tradition and misinformation. Addressing this requires promoting scientific literacy, rational discourse, and policies to bridge economic gaps. Redirecting resources towards welfare and development can transform society, ensuring progress based on awareness and equity.
