The Entertainment Revolution We all are aware about the effects of short form content which became popular with the arrival of TikTok. Let it be Instagram reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok or any other short video app we all have spent several hours scrolling on these short videos. But can you believe that this short form content has the potential to revolutionize the entertainment industry itself? In China something similar is happening and they call it "Short form dramas" these are episodes ranging from 1 to 2 minutes, designed specifically for mobile phones are exploding in numbers. In a short period of time they are already surpassing the movie box office. Bytedancer's Hunggou app is the best example of this it has 10 million active users in Jan 2024 and double in March 2024 and by September the number rose to 120 million active users. This seems to be working so well because most people are busy and have shot attention span. Just like those who just read the heading of this post
