There are a lot of free resources online. W3schools is not highly regarded in the web community but that's how I got started and I think it is great for explaining things to complete beginners. Just remember to find other resources after the basics . Code academy has some free classes. The lessons force you to type things out which helps you remember. MDN is highly regarded but not sure if good for absolute beginners. I use mostly for reference though so haven't looked at their tutorials much. There is a ton of stuff out there. Learning to solve your own problems is a huge factor when working on your own so get used to searching things out. Most important is that you practice what you learn. You can start with using Windows notepad (replace .txt ending with .html). Don't focus on the end product as that will discourage you as it won't look like a "real" website for a while. Focus on learning each aspect as you go so you will be able to problem solve later.

if you starting out your freelancing journey don't hop in Fiverr, Upwork websites coz the market there is saturated & highly competitive to stand out, like supply>demand. I would highly recommend someone to start pitching clients from his own network

This is how Elon Musk gets so many things done, and you can do the same. A person who works closely with Elon Musk said that Elon Musk will take things that will take someone a week, which is also a highly skill required task, and turns it into a 30
