The investment came from promoters and new investors, including medical professionals. Key investors have also committed to additional funding of ₹10 crore. The funds will drive startup's expansion and strengthen its go-to-market strategy. The company aims to recruit more staff and develop innovative medical devices. This marks a significant step towards revolutionising wound care using silk proteins. Why Take the Business to New Heights Using Effective Wound Care Products? Fibroheal was founded in 2017 and offers biomaterial based on silk for treating wounds. Its products help to control acute, chronic, and traumatic wounds effectively. The products include; foams, powders, and meshes for diverse Wound care. Products of Fibroheal are utilised in serving over 500 healthcare facilities in 19 states in the country of India. The startup has also ensured that it sells its products on various e-commerce platforms. These solutions target hard to manage ulcers such as pressure ulcers and post surgery infections. Strong Focus on Research and Patented Innovations Fibroheal holds eight patents, with several others currently under development. To drive innovation, the company collaborates with leading research institutions. A joint project with IISc Bangalore led to the creation of Fibroplug. Fibroplug, a hemostatic product, has treated 3,000 bleeding cases in 4 months. This collaboration highlights Fibroheal’s dedication to translating research into impactful solutions.
