SEO lane series - Lane 2 How search engine works and ranks. Not only google, Every search engines works the same patterns as this. Search engine ranks a website by following this only this 3 steps. Crawling Indexing Ranking Crawling : There are millions and millions of website in google, Obliviously its impossible to manually review every site. So search engines has a Bot to do this work. Once you submitted the website, Bots will scan each and every inch of the site to understand your website and its content. After scanning, Bot sends the data to search engines. Indexing : If you have to start a store in your city, What will you do if you don't have a land?, Obliviously rent a outlet right?. Same applies to search engines. They has lots and lots of servers to store the website where your website will be stored there without any rent. And what's the catch is, There is no common servers for every websites. There are lots and lots of category and commands that determines at which server your website to be placed. Let's say you have a car rental website, Your website will only be stored at server which is related to car rentals. Ranking : If a user searches for "Car rentals online", Search engine will directly go the car rental server and analyze the websites. Now it will rank the website to the users based on your SEO, Brand identity, Social performance etc.. using the Bot's data of your site. ------------------------------------- Ask your doubts in comments if any.
