🤯 Students from India hacked AirPods Pro with a microwave so their grandmothers could hear 🇮🇳 🥲 Apple’s premium headphones have a hearing aid feature, but it's disabled in India. Standard workarounds couldn’t bypass this restriction as Apple determines location through numerous parameters and sensors. So, a trio of inventors built a Faraday cage using a microwave that blocks all signals. After four hours in the cage and continuous "US signals," the AirPods finally thought they were in the States and activated the hearing aid function. 🎧🔓 Now, these clever hands want to help all hard-of-hearing grandmothers in India by setting up a hacking station to turn AirPods into hearing aids. 👵💡
