I added my startup to Medial’s December showcase, excited about the idea of sharing my vision and getting support. At first, it felt great. Without sharing it anywhere, I got my first upvote and a comment. It felt like genuine validation. But soon, things felt off. Some startups were upvoting every idea, regardless of quality. Others left the same generic comment on every post. It didn’t feel real anymore. Worse, people started messaging me, asking for upvotes because they’d upvoted mine. It became a numbers game instead of recognizing good ideas. This shouldn’t happen. Great startups might get overlooked in all this noise. If you like an idea, upvote it. If not, don’t. Fake support only misleads founders and gives false hope. Medial is still a great platform, second only to LinkedIn for startup networking. But this process needs fixing.
